Mod Podge gift box

I going to let everyone in on a secret about me.  I love boxes.  I'm addicted to them.  All shapes and sizes.  I save them for all kinds of projects, gifts, whatever strikes my fancy.  And once I have them in my possession I hate to let them go.  Believe me, you can do so much with just an plain, ordinary box.  With just a little Mod Podge, the right tissue paper, some cute embellishments and a little imagination you could turn a plain brown box into a child's secret box.  A box where he/she can hide away all of their most prized treasures.

Granny Square Afghan

Although I really hate making afghans that have to be put together (I dislike weaving in all the ends), I made this one so I could use up some of my scrap yarn.  I'm going to give it to my granddaughter for Christmas.

Jewelry making

I have been wanting to learn how to make jewelry for a while now.  Every time I visit one or more of our local craft stores I have been drawn to the beading section.  I would look at the colorful beads and all of the clasps and earring hooks, but honestly I didn't have the first idea where to start.  Every time, I would wander away empty-handed.

Chalkboard paint project

My daughter bought a super cute sign for her kitchen.  It was made out of an old cabinet door and they painted the inside with chalkboard paint.  Then they took some fun colored chalks and drew a few very pleasing-looking cupcakes--especially compared to mine!  I thought this sign was so charming it got me thinking about a chalkboard paint project.  I have been wanting to work with this paint for a while now, but I was unsure of how to I could use it.  Since seeing her cute sign I have been thinking of all sorts of projects to make with it.
