Tasty Tuesday--Lemon Ice Cream Cake

For Father's Day, I made an ice cream cake.
I began with the 2 ingredient Luscious Lemon Cake from Six Sister's Stuff.  This cake is SO easy to make and it's delicious.  Give it a try.

Ingredients:
1 (1 lb) package of angel food cake
1 (15.75 oz) can of lemon pie filling

In a bowl, combine the cake mix and the pie filling.

Spread the cake batter into a 10" spring form pan.  Bake 350 degrees for 27 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean.

Cool.

With a Kitchen Aid or heavy-duty mixer, beat the ice cream until it's spreadable.  Spread evenly into a 10" pan.  I used the same spring form pan so it would be the same size.  Freeze solid again.  When the ice cream is frozen once again, place the cake on top.  Keep frozen until ready to use.

Release the sides of the pan and flip over onto your plate.  Lift off the bottom of your pan and voilĂ !  A very simple lemon ice cream cake that everyone will love.  We topped it with strawberry ice cream topping, but you could use whatever you wanted to on top.
