Ice Cream Cone Pin Cushion

I have been suffering from terrible insomnia lately, but one good thing that has come from it--I'm getting a lot accomplished.  For instance, this is fun little project, an ice cream cone pin cushion!  It makes a great gift for all the seamstresses in your life.   Anyone with a basic sewing stitch skill can make this.  I stitched it by hand to show how easy they are, but you could whip these up in no time with a machine.

Curling Iron Holders

It drives me crazy to open a cupboard, drawer, closet, etc. and find a cluttered, disordered, jumbled mess.  So what do you do with curling or flat irons and the twited, snarled unkempt cords?
I sat down at the sewing machine and whipped up a little cover that can hang on the inside of the cupboard door (with one of those adhesive mounting/removable hooks) and it keeps everything tidy.

Window Valance

I'm really not a seamstress. That's not one of my strong suits. (And as you can see I'm not a photographer either!)  However, every once in awhile, I get the urge to sit down and sew. Because I know where my weaknesses lie, I usually choose projects that are not too complicated. Straight lines and a little bit of pressing, I can do that. This was one of my latest projects—a valance for my family room doors.
