This is the dish cloth pattern I used to make the matching dish clothes for last Monday's towel topper post.
You can have lots of fun varying the colors and the edging, which will make every one of them look different even though the basic pattern is the same. These make great gifts (or are nice to just keep for yourself) and they are quick and easy to whip up.
Pattern (as pictured above):
HOOK size: G
CH 32 to begin with.
Row 1: hdc in second ch from hook and each ch across. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as hdc) hdc ea st across. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 6: Ch 2, *hdc in ch 1 sp, hdc in top of next hdc* repeat from * to end of row.
Row 7: Ch 2 (counts as hdc) hdc ea st across. Turn.
Row 8: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 9: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 10: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 11: Ch 2, *hdc in ch 1 sp, hdc in top of next hdc* repeat from * to end of row.
Row 12: Ch 2 (counts as hdc) hdc ea st across. Turn.
Row 13: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 14: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 15: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 16: Ch 2, *hdc in ch 1 sp, hdc in top of next hdc* repeat from * to end of row.
Row 17: Ch 2 (counts as hdc) hdc ea st across. Turn.
Row 18: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 19: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 20: Ch 3 (counts as hdc and ch 1), hdc in 3 st, *ch 1, skip next hdc in next* repeat from * to end of row. Turn.
Row 21: Ch 2, *hdc in ch 1 sp, hdc in top of next hdc* repeat from * to end of row.
Row 22: Ch 2 (counts as hdc) hdc ea st across. Turn.
Edge- Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around
Edge-Row 2: Ch 1, *1 sc, 1 dc, 1 sc in next stitch* repeat from * from around the entire dish cloth. sl st in beg. ch 1 and finish off.
Alternative Edge Row 1: ch 1, sc in each stitch around.
Alternative Edge Row 2: Turn, ch 1, sc in each stitch around.
Alternative Edge Row 3: Turn, ch 1 sc in each stitch around, sl st in beginning st. Finish off.

ReplyDeleteLove it making it now in shades of purple just one thing tho the backgroup pattern on your wall is a little distracting and very hard on the eyes when reading pattern would go more with a sold backgroup , just saying
